In 2018, Cuyahoga County installed the first solar farm on a closed and capped landfill in the State of Ohio. The project, located in the City of Brooklyn, was awarded Solar Builder Magazine's 2018 Gold Project of the Year.

  • Land Area: 17-acres
  • Number of Panels: 35,520
  • Power Capacity: 4MW
  • Power Equivalent: 650 homes
  • Offsets: 3,400 tons of CO2 emissions/year
  • Cost Savings: $3 million over 25 years
